What is Water Pollution?
Define Eutrophication
Thermal pollution and
Other Waste.
Water Pollution:
Water pollution is the contamination of water bodies.
Eutrophication:
Eutrophication is the process in which a
water body becomes overly enriched with nutrients, leading to plentiful growth
of simple plant life.
Thermal pollution:
A thermal pollution is the use of water as a coolant by power
plants and industries. When water used as a coolant is
returned to the natural environment at a higher temperature,
the sudden change in temperature decreases oxygen supply
and affects the ecosystem.
Chemicals discharged from factories can also pollute
our water.
Pesticides:
Pesticides are chemical substances that are meant to kill pests.
In our drinking water is another problem
Lead in water:
Lead is a toxic metal. Like other heavy metals.
lead water pipes have been banned Lead is not very
soluble in water but a little does dissolve, and that is
enough to cause problems.
