What is a Chemical reaction?
Chemical reaction:
The change was shown by a word equation.
A chemical (or symbol) equation gives you more detail. It shows you the formula of each substance in the reaction.
iron+ sulfur    🠊     iron sulfide  Word equation
Fe + S      🠊          FeS         Symbol equation

This tells us that 1 atom of iron reacts with 1 atom of sulfur. They make iron sulfide, which contains 1 iron atom for each sulfur atom.
