Define proton donor and proton acceptors.

We can refer to H+ (aq) ion proton. The H+ ions are said to be hydrated.





Proton donor:

We can define an acid as a proton donor.


Proton acceptors:



We can define a base as a proton acceptor.



 

For a strong acid plus a weak alkali, use methyl orange indicator.

 For a weak acid and a strong alkali, use phenolphthalein indicator.
